Starting today, Strength in Numbers — TeamKeys’ new content series — goes live.

Inspired by the well-known motto from the Golden State Warriors’ golden era, this series will focus on analyzing the data and key metrics available on our platform.
The objective is to clearly demonstrate how TeamKeys Scouting delivers precise and reliable insights to identify the best solutions for your roster.
In this first edition, we introduce the concept of Overall.

What is Overall?

Overall is a metric designed to determine a player’s total value by evaluating both efficiency and volume.
The innovative aspect of this parameter lies in its ability to combine these two dimensions. Traditionally, player evaluation tends to focus primarily on efficiency, often overlooking the importance of volume.
For example, how reliable is a strong three-point percentage if we do not consider the number of attempts?

The purpose of the Overall metric is to bridge the gap between perceived player value and actual performance. For this reason, it aims to be as objective as possible — approaching a scientific standard.
Which factors contribute to the Overall metric?

Overall is built on nine key parameters, ensuring a high level of accuracy:

* Two-point shooting percentages and volume
* Three-point shooting percentages and volume
* Free throw percentages and volume
* Scoring
* Offensive rebounds
* Defensive rebounds
* Playmaking
* Steals
* Rim protection

Scoring

The scoring component is based on 11 different metrics, designed to evaluate a player’s offensive impact by analyzing real shooting efficiency and volume across all game situations:

* PTS/G
* TS%
* 2PM/G/A
* 2P%
* 2P Rate
* 3PM/G/A
* 3P%
* 3P Rate
* FTM/G/A
* FT%
* FT Rate

This is just the beginning.
